Salary: Grade D SCP 7 £12,146 - SCP 10 £12,772 part time (Actual Salary)

 

Hours: 18 Hours per Week

 

Base Location: Stalybridge Library (although the role will include mobile working)

Library Assistants are responsible for the provision of front-line library services including counter duties, the maintenance of stock, dealing with enquiries and assisting members of the public in our Computer Learning Centres.  You may also be required to assist in the provision of reference, local studies and bibliographical services.

 

The Home Library Service includes 2 vehicles that deliver a service direct to housebound customers in their own homes, sheltered accommodation and elderly peoples homes.

 

Preferably you will have previous experience of dealing with the public. Applicants must have the ability to interact with customers, including the elderly and people with disabilities. You should have a friendly, helpful manner and have confidence in dealing with the public. You will have good communication skills and be well organised, flexible; self motivated. You must be I.T. literate and familiarity with a “Windows” environment is also essential.

 

It is essential that clients have a current, valid driving licence.

 

The actual hours of work are variable within the period 9.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 3.00pm Saturday.
