The Role
The Early Education Funding Team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic self-motivated individual with the right qualities to join a small hard working team as an Early Education Funding Officer. 
 
This role is key to ensuring the Early Education Funding Team is supported through your excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills.  They will ensure the administration of the diverse and complex funding regime’s to local providers of childcare, in particular the Free Entitlement Funding for under 2’s 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
 
About You
The post holder will need to have:
 
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a good telephone manner, and used to problem solving and managing operational queries 
o Ability to adapt and pick up new skills quickly, and able to interpret and follow  procedures precisely
o Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors or irregularities
o A good understanding of financial processes linked to large scale payments
o Ability to support and advise childcare providers on the quality and technical elements of funding regimes and their submissions
o Excellent IT skills, as you will need to have the ability to use a variety of Microsoft IT packages including excel, word and outlook at an intermediate/advanced level.  
o To also have experience of the use of databases is desirable as Tameside use external software to administrate the funding
o Highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic, you will possess excellent customer service skills and be well organised as you will need to work to tight and challenging or conflicting deadlines
o You will be expected to work independently, in a fast paced environment using your own initiative but also able to positively contribute to working as part of the team.
 
Flexibility with the ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise your workload are essential along with a desire to undertake professional development and training opportunities.
 
For all posts, you maybe required to work flexibly including very occasional evening/weekend work.
