The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and dedicated Placement Officer to join Tameside’s Brokerage and Monitoring Team.
 
The role involves working in a fast-paced environment seeking and responding to information, searching for packages for children and young people in a range of settings appropriate to their needs these include, foster care, residential children’s homes, semi-independent and supported accommodation.
 
The successful candidate will be working proactively with a range of partners and professionals both internally and externally. They will also undertake monitoring of provision ensuring it meets the needs of children and young people to promote wellbeing whilst responding to alerts on risks, threats and ongoing issues to maintain sufficiency and sustainability.
 
About you
You will be familiar with and have the ability to work within legislation and guidance preferably already working within or experience of placements, children’s services or residential settings. With a flexible approach and ability to respond to changing priorities you will be able to work under pressure and to tight timescales and deadlines with the ability to influence, liaise and negotiate at appropriate levels.
 
We are looking for candidates who are proficient in the use of IT to maintain effective case management and recording systems.
