Salary: Grade I. Scale 35 - £43,421 to Scale 39 - £47,420 with a professional bar at Scale 37 - £45,441**
 
Hours: 36 hours per week
 
Base Location: Ashton Old Library, Old Street, Ashton under-Lyne

The role

In order to achieve this we are looking to add an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Practitioner to our Cared for Children service. 
 
The Senior Practitioner role is the first step on the management ladder. You will be part of a team led by a Team Manager. You will hold a small caseload of complex cases whilst supporting the Team Manager in improving the service delivery to our cared for children by providing a mentoring and coaching role for social workers and you will deputise for the team manager in chairing meetings and providing management oversight for cases.
 
You will contribute to ensuring timely care and permanence planning for children, achieving this through professional and reflective supervision, supporting staff learning and development and ensuring the production of high quality work to improve the outcomes for our Cared for Children.

You will be an experienced practitioner with a high level of skills and knowledge who models good practice and is passionate about achieving good outcomes for children.  You will have excellent leadership skills and commitment in contributing towards our vision of meeting the holistic needs of our cared for children and are able to work collaboratively and creatively in order to achieve this.
